Is this packing list generator free?
Yes. The generator is free, runs in the browser, and does not require an account, email address, login, subscription, or shopping cart. The goal is to create a practical checklist quickly, then let you print it, copy it, or keep checking items off in the browser.
Does it use live weather?
No. In v1, users choose a weather profile such as warm, mild, rainy, or cold. That keeps the tool fast and low-maintenance. Before departure, check a current forecast and adjust outerwear, shoes, sun protection, and rain gear manually.
Can I print the checklist?
Yes. Use the Print checklist button after adjusting trip type, days, travelers, luggage, weather, and activities. Printing works best after you remove items that the camp, hotel, host, or airline rules make unnecessary.
Can I copy the checklist into notes or a message?
Yes. The Copy list button creates a plain-text checklist grouped by category. That format is useful for sharing with a camper, partner, parent, travel group, or family member who does not need the interactive page.
Does the site advise on prohibited items?
No. It does not provide restricted-item workarounds, security-evasion advice, or hazardous-materials guidance. If an item may be restricted, check current airline, camp, TSA, FAA, CDC, customs, and destination rules from the original source.
Where is my checklist saved?
Checked items and custom items are saved in your browser localStorage on the same device. They are not sent to a server. If you clear browser data, switch devices, or use a different browser, the saved state may not appear.
How should I use the days field?
Use days as the number of full days away, then adjust manually for laundry and travel days. Underwear and socks usually follow day count closely. Jackets, shoes, sleepwear, and toiletries usually repeat or scale more slowly.
How should families use the generator?
For family travel, set traveler count and choose the family activity. Then review shared items separately from individual clothing. Medicines, documents, chargers, snacks, comfort items, and first-day supplies should stay easy to reach.
Can I use it for camp?
Yes. Choose Camp / Sports, select the number of days, and add activities such as baseball, swimming, or hiking when relevant. Always compare the result with the camp handbook because camps often restrict electronics, food, sprays, or specific equipment.
Why does the result include optional items?
Optional items are reminders, not instructions. They help you think about comfort, activities, or weather, but they should be removed if space is tight, the item is provided, or the item does not match the actual trip.
